City Council Member Helene Schneider Responds

Travis Armstrong, Editorial Page Editor, regularly criticizes people and organizations in Santa Barbara. His targets often complain that Armstrong is incorrect and vindictive, and that he refuses to print their responses.
Yet, a long-standing principle established by The National Conference of Editorial Writers says, "Targets of criticism ... especially deserve an opportunity to respond."
The targets of Armstrong's editorial attacks believe that they are not afforded this opportunity. Thus, the producers of Citizen McCaw are providing a forum, with potentially far greater circulation than the newspaper, for them to reply.

Armstrong recently wrote that we want to “silence” his editorial page. To the contrary, Travis, our goal is to see fairness, integrity, and open dialogue restored to the editorial page of The Santa Barbara News-Press with adherence to commonly accepted journalistic ethics.
Note to Travis: This space is for you to respond. Your opinions are welcome here. Contact us at the.producers@citizenmccaw.com and we will be happy to film you, or film your own response and send it to us.
